Bathers Beach, also known as Whalers Beach, is a section of coastline that has a written history since the European settlement of what is now called Fremantle. It's the closest beach near the city center.

One of Fremantle's greatest attractions is its coastline of pristine beaches on the edge of the Indian Ocean. South Beach is idealy located just south of Fremantle harbour, it's a perfect place to enjoy a quick walk or swim to relax. Thanks to its outlaying reef this beach maintains pool-like calm conditions all year round. Watching the sunset is a religion in Australia, South Beach is a perfect place to enjoy it.

If I should recommend one hostel in Fremantle, I would recommend without any hesitation the "the Sundance Backpacker", this hostel is the best place to start your adventure in Australia.

You would be charm by his chill vibes and friendly atmosphere. This hostel is a old building with a beautiful achitecture. You will meet people from all around the world mostly french and latino.. A swimming pool is situated at the back of the hostel, perfect for the hot summer. Don't expect to sleep much, this hostel is mostly a "party" hostel ideal, to meet new people when you just arrived in Perth.
